RE: "Eco-Terrorist" Caught on Video Keying Hummer H2

If someone feels so strongly about an issue like this, how come they have to wait until no one is looking to express their displeasure.
Must be gutless weasels that don't really want credit for their actions.

Are the bike racks on the back of vans exempt? Those suckers can smart, so I've been told.

RE: 2008 Sierra 2500 SB/EC 6.0 liter gas auto 3.73

My truck has the 6.0 w/ 4.10 gears. 13.5--14 mpg local driving.
The built in brake controller and towing mirrors are good options to get.

RE: Weber Q Grills

Have the Q and it is a very nice grill. Weber quality throughout.
Do wish we had gotten the Baby Q, though. Just don't need a full size grill for 2 of us.
You won't go wrong with either product.

RE: How Tall Are Most Overhangs?

What I can't understand if someone has already seen this video before, why log onto it and then complain about it being posted before. Why not just pass it by??
Exactly!
And if it bugs ya to read about Wal-Mart don't open that one either, lol

Roofing question

Cleaning the gutter on our '06 TT where a bit of a dam had occurred in the gutter. There was a grey dry powder almost like a dried putty.
In removing it stuck to my hands pretty good and would not wash off.
Thinner cleaned it up easily.
Is this from the roof breaking down?
Should the roof be treated with a protectant?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

RE: GMPP

GM has upped the warranty to 100,000 miles this year. You might want to check it out before extending.
Don't worry about not having time to add on to the warranty. The mail and calls are still coming in on my last truck.

RE: My poor truck :(

With all the calcium chloride they use up here, I'd give the undercarriage a good lookover before putting any $ into the project. Folks in some other parts of the country might not realize the toll winter driving takes on our vehicles.
My 2 cents.

RE: Will RVing survive?

China isn't paying $4.00 for a gallon of gas.
Absolutely correct! According to this price list CNN Global Gas Prices, they are only paying $1.48 USD/gallon in Shanghai. Venezuela is only paying $0.14!
Why would they sell to China for $1.48 if there was a market in the west for twice that?
RE OP: We will get priced out as with other activities. Just go less or shorter trips at first ...

Coffee percolators

Howdy,
Thanks in advance for all help!
My wife and I both prefer percolated coffee. In preparing for dry camping we bought a camp percolator to use on the burner.
Our first practice turned out ok, but perhaps one of you can
shorten our learning curve on times and temps.
6 cups water,3 scoops coffee, reduced temp to medium after it
started to perk. Let it go for 10 mins, it was kind of strong.
Thanks again.

RE: Lightning fever!!!!

Test drove a lightning a few years ago. What a blast!
First time I kicked it, the wife wasn't ready, and had a hard time
getting her head off the rear window, lol.
Even as an old faht, I lack the restraint to behave all the time.
Had the same prob. with a 'vette when the wife said, "You're not going to let that Porsche pass us, are you?"
After about ten miles wide open pulled over, and waved good bye.
Go for it.

RE: Hybrid Vehicles as Tow Vehicles

Contrary to some popular belief, not all trucks are designed for towing anything. In the real world MOST half ton trucks tow lawn mowers and ski boats. To ME the idiocy is for manufacturers to be beating each others brains out fighting for the 10% of the business that needs heavy duty towing with them instead of for the other 90% who would just like to take a load of tree branches to the dump and haul home that new chair from the store once in a while.

Ayuh. Corrosion between aluminum rim and hub. Never-Seize after you get it off, as others have said.

RE: MPG on a 2001 6.0 Chevy 2500 HD

FWIW
About 14 in mixed local driving.
11.5+ when towing a covered snowmobile trailer @65+.
87 is the only thing that's ever been in it,
but then I only have a couple thousand miles on it.
